Local
The farm site is located in Research, a suburb in Melbourne's north-east. We currently grow a modest amount of fresh produce and are in the process of expanding our growing space. We travel less than 5 km to the Eltham Farmers' Market for weekly sales.
Fresh
With a few exceptions (zucchinis, cucumbers, and tomatoes), our produce is harvested early each Sunday morning, just before the Eltham Farmers' Market opens (OK, in truth Richard will probably be running late and still harvesting as the market opens). We pride ourselves on bringing you the freshest possible produce. Minimising the time between harvest and sale also has environmental benefits: we don't need cold storage.
Organic
We grow organically because it's healthier for people and the planet. All inputs are approved for certified organic production. We don’t use any petrochemical-derived fertilisers or synthetic pesticides. (Please note that while we strictly follow organic guidelines we are not certified organic). We are more than happy to answer any questions and are open to be community audited.
Sustainable
We're thinking of the future. That's why we take sustainability seriously. In addition to growing organically, we put a lot of thought and effort into understanding the life cycle of our inputs. We source sustainable inputs, even when that means higher production costs. We believe it's worth it in the long run.

Fair
We're striving for a fair food system. Fair prices for consumers, fair pay for farmers and growers. This is a major challenge for small farms. We're exploring different models, including variations of community supported agriculture (CSA), in an attempt to find a solution that's fair for all.

Farmers' Markets
Since 2014, we've been a regular stall holder at several farmers' markets around Melbourne. We currently hold a weekly stall at the Eltham Farmers' Market where we sell seedlings and fresh produce.
You may have met us at the Collingwood Children's Farm, Slow Food, or another market over the past few years. Volunteer with us
There
are opportunities for volunteers to learn to sow and raise seedlings
and plant and harvest vegetables organically. Enjoy being involved in
the whole food cycle, from seed to harvest, and contributing to truly
sustainable local food production. Prior experience is not necessary.
