Who We Are
We grow high-quality organic Soil Block seedlings for farmers and home gardeners.
|
KABUU is a start-up enterprise based in Banyule and Nillumbik, Victoria. We currently run a micro-nursery and grow vegetables, herbs, baby salads and microgreens. Since May 2014 we have had a regular seedling stall at Victorian Farmer's Markets in and around Melbourne. Our specialty is growing eco-friendly organic KABUU Seedlings using the Natures BoxPress method.
We are aspiring ecological urban farmers and are committed to growing sustainably. Our goal is to transform currently vacant and underutilised urban spaces into thriving food producing systems; supplying quality fresh food to local communities.

We are committed to growing organically
|
We grow organically. All our inputs are approved for certified organic production. We make all our Soil Blocks by hand, locally in Research, using a blend of certified organic compost and coconut fibre. No peat, no petrochemical derived fertilisers, no synthetic fertilisers, and no disposable plastic.
Our commitment to environmental responsibility extends to our packaging and printed materials. We sell our seedlings in certified carbon neutral and biodegradable carry trays made from Australian sugar cane waste. Wherever possible we print on 100% post-consumer recycled paper using vegetable-based inks. In our commitment to minimise our impact on the environment we are always seeking to innovate and adopt creative solutions to achieve our long-term goal of a completely sustainable food production system. Fresh - Local - Sustainable - Fair
